Patrick Bateman is more than a fiction-character in a Bret Easton Ellis book,
it's also the name of a Danish deck wizard. A dj who has grown into one of
the prime sons during the last decade, playing from vicious hard minimalism
to luscious deep tech-house and wicked electro.
A decade ago Kenneth Broxgaard aka Patrick Bateman started listening to
electronic music, jumpstarted with Inner City and Italian house. In '92 he
bought his first decks and started mixing at home and buying lots and lots of
records. In the beginning it was house and rave music, then he got into more
hardcore techno. After that a bit of trance and harthouse, and in 95 he
discovered detroit techno and chicago house. In 98 to 2000 he played alot of
the looping mono techno from Sweden and UK. In between all of this Patrick
has always been a big fan of minimal techno and house and has been buying
those records too, and since 99/00 he has been playing minimal techno and
house only (with a few electro tracks in between).
In '93 he got his first DJ job by luck and from then on he played at numerous
parties in Denmark. In 1994 he started arranging parties with some friends,
and in 1995 he met Peter Lundgreen, a well-known Danish promoter and DJ.
Together they started the club Hypnotic Basement, which had a huge impact on
the Danish rave scene. That club had it all, underground sound and atmosphere.
The club was a big success.
In January '98 Peter Lundgreen started The Rocket Club, a monthlybased techno
and house club, with both local and international DJ's and live acts and of
cause Peter and Patrick as resident DJ's. This club is now a well-known club
in Denmark.
All this has brought Patrick Bateman to play alongside such names as:
DJ Hell, Reinhard Voigt, Michael Mayer, Tobias Thomas, Steve Bug, Scion,
Superpitcher, Sasha Funke, Jeff Bennet, Triple R, Savas Pascalidis, Luciano,
Sami Koivikko, Todd Sines, Claude Young, Blake Baxter, Tiefschwarz, Like A Tim,
Terence Fixmer, Oliver Ho, Mike Shannon, A. Paul, DJ Algorithm, Frank Yentner,
Daniel Benavente, Joel Mull, Damon Wild.
Patrick Bateman started touring abroad in '99 that has up until now brought
him to places like Slovakia, Portugal, Germany and Sweden apart from the
numerous parties in Denmark.
The style that Patrick plays at the moment minimal techno and house, cologne style.
A superb party DJ.
